Deborah Gallant Biography
Deborah has gained a national reputation as “The Business Coach Who Gets the Internet,” teaching popular workshops, teleclasses and seminars that empower small business owners. Since 2002 when she moved to Southern California, Deborah has founded Solo Entrepreneurs monthly networking group, Conejo Jewish Job Support, penned a book (Shine Online), run the successful Day of Marketing at Columbia University in New York, and the One Day Web Makeover in December 2009.. Her husband calls her “The hardest working woman in the Conejo Valley.”
Before moving out West, Deborah was a New York City-based consultant to new business startups, ensuring that clients had a solid foundation for their business concepts: researching, strategizing, running financials, doing scenario analysis and financing strategies.
Deborah was an early Internet pioneer, starting Journal Square Interactive (JSQ), a division of Advance Publications and then working for a startup (FamilyPoint) that was subsequently acquired by iVillage, the women’s website.
In 2001, Berkley Books published Deborah’s book Internet Jobs For the Rest of Us, a book about adapting job skills and knowledge to the Internet industry.
Her career began with a solid grounding in media and consumer marketing in radio, syndication, advertising, marketing and sales from five years in the radio business.
Deborah’s double major M.B.A. is in Marketing and Management of Organizations from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, where she won the Amena Elliott Webster Marketing Award and was chosen for Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Her B.A. is in American Studies from Brandeis University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Deborah was awarded the Education Advocate of the Year award by the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2005.
When she isn’t running Bold Business Works, Deborah teaches several aerobics classes every week as an AFAA-certified fitness instructor. An avid reader and bicyclist, she lives in Westlake Village, California with her husband, teenage daughter and two cats.
