Who else will tell you this stuff?
Check and see if you're making any of these mistakes:1. Using an AOL email address for your business. I know at least one tech headhunter who won't even open email from an AOL address since it indicates that the sender is a dinosaur in the Internet age. 2. Not using a signature file with complete contact information. Make it super-easy to get in touch with you by providing complete contact information including your phone number automatically appended to every email message. 3. Using your personal cellphone as your public business number. Set up a virtual phone number with Google Voice (or my preferred vendor Ring Central) and if you want to you can forward the calls or messages. 4. Not adding search terms to your website. If you've posted a website to attract new clients, then don't skip this important step. If you can't do it or don't want to, get someone else to add Titles, Descriptions and Keywords. 5. Putting up your website and walking away. Your website needs constant care and feeding. Blog, add events, newsletters, seasonal specials, something that keeps it fresh and current. 6. Not using Google Analytics (or not using it correctly). Even I had things to learn on this front.
